How To Add Popup E-Mail Subscription Box On Blogger/Blogspot Using Mailmunch

It is my first post on this blog and I am starting with a Blogspot or Blogger tip. It is about low you can add a pop up Email subscription box or say it opt-in box on your blogger blog.
Many people think that blogger is very limited and WordPress is better than blogger because it has tons of features. But the fact is that blogger also have all of those features but requires a sharp mind to do the jobs.
As we know that WordPress offers plugins for almost every task, making it easy for everyone to add their required features in the blog without any effort. But on the other hand, Blogspot blog need some work to get the job done.
Today, in this post I will show you the easiest way to add a popup subscription box on your blogger blog. Actually, you just need to add an HTML widget on your blog. Easy na? Follow the below instructions.
I have divided this detailed post into three sections for better understanding.
Step 1: Signing up on MailMunch
Step 2: Making and configuring Opt-in box
Step 3: Implementing
Let's start.

Step 1: Signing up on MailMunch
First of all, we need to have an account MailMunch, so go and signup for a free account or you may choose the premium one for more features. But the free package can do our job. I don;t think I have to tell you about signing up the process. Go and signup and then come back here.

Step 2: Make and Configure pop up subscription box for blogger
Now we have to make a subscription box for our blog. I will do the whole process in front of you. First of all, sign in to Mailmunch and click on forms.

You will be asked to copy and paste a code on your site, just close it for now. We will do it later in the implementing section.

Now look at the right corner, there is a button "Create new", click on it and select form from drop-down list.

Now you will be presented with 5 form types; we will select popover because we want to add pop up box. Select it and move on.

After choosing the Form type, we are in theme selection step of mailmunch. Only two themes are available for free users, select one of them. I am selecting "simple" for this tutorial. It will name for the form and list in which new subscribers are to be added. Give any name and select "General" from the list or create a new one. I am giving name it as New Form and selecting General as the list

At this point, we need to configure message section of our form. Don't worry I will do it in front of you. In headline section, we need to add the message which will be shown at the top of the subscription box and in description section we have to set description for our box which will be shown between headline and input fields. Look at the screenshot for better understanding.

In "Thank-you message" we will set the message which will be shown after the user inputs its details. In the "Success message" we will set the message which will be shown if the subscription is successful. Look at screenshots for better understanding.

After configuring this section according to your need, click on "Save and continue" button. Now we are in the appearance section. Here we will configure the appearance of our opt-in box. It is very easy and you can do it without any hassle. There is no need to do any explanation on it. Jus configure it and click on Continue.

Now we are in fields section, here we need to add or remove fields which will be included in our box like E-mail. First name, second name, Full name, etc. You can choose as many fields as you want from there. You can also make some or all of these fields as "Required". I am not adding any extra field and continuing with only E-mail.

At this point, we need to configure our form regarding when and where it should show. You can select it to be displayed when page loads, when the user is about to leave your page and also you can choose to not show it on the first visit. You can also choose how long it should take to show the pop up. Below it, there is is an option to choose for how much long time it should not show to the same visitor. Set it up it according to your needs.

You can also make some after subscription rules for the form. Like you can choose a different list to add subscriptions, can redirect a user to other page or site after subscription, etc. You also have the option t make some display rules like Show on desktop devices, mobile and tablets, and some URL-based rules. For example, you can choose to not show your form on the home page. Tinker with these options to learn more.

After these steps, we have successfully configured our form. Now it is the time to publish it. You can also integrate it with other services like MailChimp. Constant Contact, Aweber, mailer, etc. As of now for this tutorial, I am not integrating it with any service, just click on "Publish Form" button and then "Finish".

Step 3: Implementing Pop UP Subscription box for blogger
Now as we have made our own personalized and custom Email Subscription for blogger, we have to implement it on your blog. After you click the Finish button, you will be presented the same code which we have ignored in earlier. But for this time, copy it and Go to the layout of your blogger blog. Now add an HTML Widget in the sidebar section of your blog.
You can also add this code into the HTML of your blog. For that, go to template section and click on edit HTML. Press anywhere in the HTML box and press CTRL+F and search for </head> or </body> and paste the copied code above any of these.
